Sharing today one of my favorite recipes of my moms the butter beans masala.I love to have this dish with just plain rice as it tastes great just by itself.
1/4 tsp urad
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
5-6 curry leaves
2 cups butter beans
2 tbsp shredded coconut
1 handful quartered shallots
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Chili powder(add as needed)
1.Cook the butter beans in pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
2.In a pan,heat oil,allow mustard seeds to splutter,brown urad dhal and allow cumin seeds to splutter.
3.Allow the curry leaves to crackle
4. Next sauté the shallots to become transparent.
4.Add the cooked beans and add salt,turmeric powder, chili powder and cook for a few minutes.
