Varttu Kari /Mutton Chukka/Goat Side Dish
A dish that makes me nostalgic.Memories of this dish made at our home and my granddad’s place makes me reminisce the holidays.This is an authentic dish to our hometown Sivakasi which is also called as Little Japan.
A very easy and simple dish to make,yet will leave you wanting for more.
1 Onion Chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp oil
3 Red Chillies Whole
2 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1.In a pressure cooker heat oil,add onions,cumin seeds and red chili and sauté until the onions become tender.
2.Add coriander powder,turmeric powder and chili powder and sauté for a minute
3.Add the mutton and wait for the steam to come in full force,add the weight and cook for 20-25 minutes in pressure cooker.
4.If you find the mixture watery,heat until the gravy thickens.
