Daughters of the Servant King

Lately I’ve been coming across many advertisements on women rights. Some of these truly disturb me.

21st has come to Women’s rights demanding more significance for herself. Please understand I’m not against women’s rights, but the only sound I hear from some of these Posts are “Me,Me,Me”.

One particular article(Click Here) written by well known author Chetan Bhagat says “For now, i want to give Indian women five suggestions to reduce their stress levels. One, don’t ever think you are without power. Give it back to that mother-in-law. Be who you are, not someone she wished you would be. She doesn’t like you? That’s her problem. “

While I was thinking about this, god brought an area in my life where I was so self wrapped around me.We all in some ways are all wrapped around “Me,Me,Me” and very much influenced by the world and media thats tries to make us center stage.

I got this from my bible reading from the book Ruth and I thought how interesting of what the bible expects of us.

Here is the excerpt of commentary by Vicar Nicky Gumbel:

Real Love is often hard, inconvenient and costly. But true happiness only comes to those who care about others at some cost to themselves. The book of Ruth is a wonderful story of loyalty, faithfulness and kindness all the more impressive taking place in a period of strife.

Below is the testimony given for Ruth.

Ruth 2:11-12(NIV)
11 Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before. 12 May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

What a powerful testimony!

I see such a difference from what the world views from a women to the girl the bible talks about.

The bible talks about RUTH’s KINDNESS,Her SERVITUDE.

Todays world talks about “ME,ME,ME”,”MY WISHES”,”MY SIGNIFICANCE TO BE GREATER”.While the Bible shows “YOU”,”YOUR WISHES” and “TO BE THE LEAST” as in the case of Ruth who put herself last.

Christ too was a great example of the same.He was the SERVANT KING:

Matthew 20:26-28(NKJV)
26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Philippians 2:5-8(NIV)
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

I urge you moms to walk as daughters of the servant king to put the needs of others and their welfare above our very own.Serving our husband, our children ,our in laws and our parents with kindness.

I found this beautiful post online.

Blessings!!!
