Motherhood Series:The Day Momma was Lost

Talk to any stay at home momma and she’d tell you the blast she has with her young ones.Every momma wants to look perfect in the eyes of a  stranger ,myself included. If they were to look inside our minds, the thoughts that run on some days, they’d take several steps backwards in fright.

This was one such day,I had ,had a very perfect day.Made my meals on time, took my toddler out for a walk, read my bible, made sure I had worked out.Well this is my definition of perfect. Then suddenly I was overwhelmed with certain thoughts that started leading to me feeling extremely isolated and unappreciated by my family. There came the downward spiral, with the feeling of being lost.I wanted my little one to play by himself and wanted a few mins to regroup myself. My ever accommodating toddler chose that day to want mommy more and was in tears.I have never felt so hopeless and guilty as I did that day.I couldn’t wait for my poor husband to get back home and foisted little on him.Him being the nicest guy ever, took over taking care of my little boy.Luckily ,All this happened an hour before my husband got home.

Stay at home Momma,Its okay,we all have our moments. This incident really shook me and made me dig deeper into god’s word for what it truly means to be a christian mother.

In the following weeks,we are going to delve deeply into the aspects of Motherhood from a biblical perspective.

Did you know in the bible, god is always referred as father but having the heart of a mother.

Isaiah 49:15(NKJV)
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
Isaiah 66:13(NKJV)
13 As one whom his mother comforts,
So I will comfort you;
And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

A woman has never more love than when she has a child of her own.
The heart of a mother is unfathomable. She’s the one thats reading or cooking yet with her concentration on her little one that’s playing in the living room. She’s the one that cries as her little one gets shots. She’s the one that has a restless night when her baby’s sick. She’s willingly to read “ABC’s” for the fourth time in a row.

Momma you’re special.Have you seen your little one reject everybody(daddy, grandma, grandpa) around them to stick to you on sick days.Do you see your toddlers big smile and big hug as he focusses on you after you come back from grocery shopping.

You’re influence your presence in your child’s life and day to day activities is crucial. The best and unforgettable moments in life are those spent with my mother,as she taught me crafts like blade painting, pottery painting, stitching. And her endless patience to unknot my long stitch thread. Her hugging me in sleep, on one of my restless nights. If someone were to ask me if I ve seen Jesus, I can say with much surety,”I’ Have”, it is in the sacrificial love of my mother.

So how can I not want to be one myself.

Blessings!!
